A Singular Twist of Fate

Why did you make the choice

The person you are to be

At any time, or any place

The forks of life to choose.

We’ll never know the reasons why

We choose the paths we do

For such a simple thing can change

Decisions to be made.

They say that fate is all laid out

No choice is ours to make

I do not think that this is so

These lives are ours to shape.

The choices made by us are free

With open eyes and minds unclouded

We face the future choices

As a singular twist of fate.

    Lovely poem 🙂
We never know where we might have been if we’d taken a different path. It doesn’t do to be too retrospective – we are where we are.
And I think fate lies in our own hands; our own choices 🙂
