I have finally done it!

I have self published a book. I am in equal parts excited and terrified. I guess every first-time author goes through the same thing. Will people like my stories! Will people think I’m arrogant? I like my stories, my poetry, my pictures. I think many others will as well.

The road to publishing is often a winding one and it was so in my case. I’ve been writing for most of my adult life. I wrote for me. I had a lively imagination and I felt it was better than becoming a serial killer. Okay I’m not quite that creepy! But some of my stories are . . . . hahaha! I was convinced first to write a blog and when I discovered that people actually like my writing, I was emboldened. Maybe I could write a book.

So to get my toes in the water, so to speak, I started publishing by short stories on my blog. When they were well received I went to the next step. It took me several months but I published! Almost everything in this book can be found on my blog over the last three years. But it is nice to have everything in one place.

If you wish to purchase a physical copy of the book it is available at www.amazon.ca as well as www.monsoonbooks.ca. Unfortunately the E version it’s only available at www.monsoonbooks.ca.

Whether you purchase copies of my book or not I will still continue to write on the blog and you are always welcome to follow me. Be well, be safe, be happy!

Congratulations to you and hoping more books to come! It’s just so inspiring to read blog post like this especially for me who is just starting my own blog. Determination is indeed the key. And you’ve got lots of determination in you!

Fantastic! I’m going to snag a copy because I love having physical mementos of the friends I’ve made here in the blogosphere. Like you, I’ve always written for myself, though my current project is something I think others will enjoy so it’ll be one of those what-the-hell-why-not things when it’s finally done… Good for you for taking on the challenge!

I am! Even planning to find a literary agent and the whole 9 yards… It’s an epic fantasy (already at 90,000 words and the thing is only 2/3 written) so there’s a sizable market for that genre. Kind of gives me butterflies thinking about all that, though… For now I’m just having fun with the writing! 🙂

Definitely, once it’s published. I have a pretty unique monster at the center of it, so that’s why I’ve been pretty quiet about it on the blog — I have to be careful somebody doesn’t run off with my idea! 🙂

Congratulations, Quiall! I just tried to buy your creation and Amazon said it can’t ship the product to my California address (and it’s not a P.O. box.) :-C! I get stuff from Amazon at my address almost daily and have never seen this message before. Puzzling…

Thank you for the additional info, Quiall. I just bought your book via Monsoonbooks.ca. The downside for U.S buyers vs. Amazon is the large cost for international postage tacked on by Monsoonbooks.ca but I wanted to support you so went ahead and bought it through them anyway.
