Never Forget

I have forgotten

the sound of the snow

The touch of the grass

On my silly big toe

I wish I remembered

The smell of the wind

That I knew it as a child

Before I had sinned

I have memories intact

Of the love that I felt

All the joy I remember

The cards I was dealt

Time is a factor

As the ages move on

But hold to the memories

Before they are gone

I find there are always some memories we hold on to; often those of our childhood. Maybe they were just more intense back then?
I like your painting, even though I too have forgotten the sound of the snow.

We didn’t often have heavy snowfalls, but I remember the creaking sound of snow, when you walked on it, or when it fell from bushes etc Also, how all other sounds seemed muffled in a snowfall. 🙂

Wish I could hold on to so many different memories – sometimes there is just a snippet of a reminder.

    Thanks, Pam.
