Perfume should enhance
The beauty within
But it is in conflict
With the smell of your skin
Lotions to smooth
And tonics to shape
Then make up and lipstick
You cannot escape
There’re scents all around
From your feet to your brow
Just wafting about
I cannot think now
A battle is waging
For dominant scent
My eyes they are watering
My nostrils resent
The smell of the forest
Wet nettles underfoot
Flowers and raindrops
Some fire and soot
These are the aromas
Soothing and true
Gentle their touch
So much better for you
One of the reasons I take the stairs at work is a woman who uses way too much of a perfume I can’t stand (she takes the elevator).

So many places are now “Scent Free Zones” because of people like that.

I need to work in one. The worst is when you can smell the perfume from the car in front of you at a traffic light. Spritz, people – don’t slather!

I think the sense of smell is weak in some people, like me! If I put a dab behind my ears and during the day someone compliments me, I cannot smell it at all.

My sense of smell has entered the ‘hyper sensitive’ realm! Not good in public.

Have you tried alternating 3 perfumes? Our sense of smell gets used to a scent very easily and we can no longer smell it.

I totally agree! 🙂
Tho it is nice to not smell too ripe – I really gag when people wear too much perfume or aftershave! Give me Nature’s Forest scents any day. 🙂

I have camped many times where no one wore deodorant or perfume or anything. We all smelled the same and not offensive.
