I understand progress. I understand the need for more buildings. But I grieve for what we lose because of it. Sunrises through trees may one day be only a memory.

I hope we have too many environmentalist and people who care to allow that to happen.

Oh I sincerely hope not, but from what we’ve seen locally, trees are being felled and replaced with bricks and mortar.

Are they those funny green things that wave around in the wind? 😀
I have to admit though Pam, I could never live in a city, even the tree’s that are there just don’t ‘feel’ right 😦

No trees eventually no people. Why don’t they understand?

Exactly Pam. It is very hard to breathe carbon dioxide 😦

If this keeps up, one day the only sunrises/sunsets we’ll see will be reflecting off of glass windows or shiny metals of high rises. We shouldn’t be destroying our natural beauty, we should have learned by now how to co-exist with it to benefit the world.
We let abandoned buildings rot and cave in instead of repurposing them early on. Makes no sense to me. They’re already here, why not use them again instead of destroying more land/trees/wildlife putting up a new building?

That is so true Pam. My own house is not a new one having stood here for nearly 400 years. The trees that line most of the streets in France were planted by Napolean’s troops. There are new builds around but they do not suit me.
