My Winter Leaves

My tree has leaves in winter,

Sitting on a limb.

It’s such a pretty picture,

As I watched the daylight dim.

Bunched together or all alone,

It changes as I look.

It seems to me they’re waiting,

And I am on the hook.

I made a start so long ago ,

It’s really not my fault.

A tree so bare is really sad,

The birds are more Gestalt!

They come from all around me,

To settle in my tree.

and it seems that they expect,

to get their lunch for free!

Gotta keep our feathered friends well fed so we can enjoy their beautiful chirping. Love your tree Pam. Soon it will sport limbs thick with leaves. You know, those things we have to rake up in the fall!

Just don’t drift off dreaming while you watch them. In your dreams you might recall they are really dinosaurs. And angry dinosaurs are much worse than angry birds. Unless you dream further and turn them back to trilobites. Have you never seen a trilobite tree.. fern ?

Nature gets the hard yards in winter. There should be a coffee truck for birds in this weather and electric blankets for the tree’s 😂 🤣
Great poem dear lady, may your bare toes never have to play in the snow either 😀
