As a kid, I used to think I was really good at tuning my parents out. But, over all these years since they each died, my head is filled with their words of wisdom.

Even with my girls, now 55 and 53, I am pleasantly surprised sometimes to realize, “She was listening to me!”

We not only reap the benefits for ourselves if we take the time to listen, but being a good listener can make a huge difference in someone’s life who needs to be heard.

Absolutely true. When you sit back and listen, so many things make their way into your brain. Then one day, faced with something you’ve not experienced, you can go through that Rolodex in your head and find what you need πŸ™‚

I was once playing Trivial Pursuit and I kept answering the questions correctly. When I was asked how I knew all this arcane information I could only shake my head. I had no idea.
