I like the thought of Chains of Freedom because freedom doesn’t mean one can do whatever they want whenever they want.

I know people think of Freedom as a right but I see it more as a responsibility.

I agree…freedom is a responsibility. And freedom isn’t free. It has a big price tag. We aren’t “entitled “ to it, freedom is earned in so many different ways. It’s a never-ending debt that each generation owes to those who went on before.

I also agree with you, Pam. Freedom brings with it an awesome responsibility. Many people seem to forget that.

I hate it when people feel entitled. It’s something that has to be fought for.

And has been fought for by wave after wave of immigrants who make up our (US) population. No one is entitled to their freedom – our ancestors put a down payment on it, made some huge payments along the way, but we have to keep making those payments.

A very interesting description Pam. Usually chains are associated with holding us back from freedom. On gaining freedom we do accept a set of chains so to speak. I imagine there are as many perspectives on freedom as there are people on the path of freedom. Given all of the legislation down here in the States to “protect” or “surpress” voting I can see some other perspectives forming. The path of freedom is being obscured. And the question of how we will defend it is on the table to be sorted out.

It is a convoluted concept. But the one we must continually defend.

Thanks again Pamela. The planet is a gift to all, but how many people really appreciate the fact?. We all have to ‘pay’ our dues one way or another. No food without planting. x ..
