Oh yes. I remember my grandmother telling me that she just couldn’t equate the old lady in the mirror with the young one inside of her…

Funny how I look at other people and refer to them as “old”, when, in fact, they are younger than me! When we feel younger than we are, I believe we act younger too. Granted, it’s all a fantasy, but a nice one and a good frame of mind to stay in.

I knew a young man in high school who was chronologically in his teens and acted like he was in his 70s with one foot in the grave. Some days I’m 19 and I’m going to conquer the world and other days I’m 102 and I can’t find my shoes. I love the uncertainty.

Ah frame of mind. Yes the mind is important. Just as important as the condition of the frame. If the glue and the fasteners are coming apart it takes a little more willpower. It is like certainty. If the water is hot and the leaves are unsteeped I am certain you will have tea.

True that! Age is a number and many countries are doing away with a prescribed age for retirement too. If one is reminded of how old they are, then it inhibits them to live life! Carpe Diem as they say!

It’s quite fascinating, this ‘cult of youth’, that’s been the driving force behind every marketing campaign, (and every other sort of campaign) since the beginning of recorded civilisation.
There’s a place for all ages within the span of the human experience, but personally, I’ll take the potency of experience over hype of youth. 🙂
