Snow lay heavy on the ground,
The night was dark and still
Figures moved in the dim moon light,
As if by someone’s will.
The children slept in innocence,
The adults stirred with worry.
A world unkind and confusing,
The future oh so blurry.
But deep inside there is a core,
A strength perhaps unknown.
Children rarely understand,
And grown-ups must be shown.
We have the power deep inside,
To choose the path that’s right.
All it takes is to believe,
And be prepared to fight.
We need not battle one another,
But ignorance must be routed.
Hatred also must be crushed
And all of those who doubted.
Snow lays deep upon the ground,
Yet it cannot stop our will.
If we stand with one another,
Peace will find us still.
Today’s poem is so you Pam. Beautifully done. I couldn’t agree with you more. Battling with one another is not the answer. Never was. Never will be. Holding hands and drawing on each other’s strength is the to success.
👋 Here’s my hand. I hope you will grab hold of it (I washed my hands!) and others will join in. Let’s make a “chain gang” that brings peace, love and harmony to our world.

I will join your chain dear friend! I too washed my hands and added a little dollop of love to pass on. I think this is a brilliant idea.

An apt poem and a very commendable one, Pamela, My hands are clean and
ready. Imagine a never-ending chain of eager hands and arms holding on to each other! Such a comforting thought! A very Happy New Year to you. Hugs x

I think Ginger has a brilliant idea! If we are holding hands, we are not shooting at each other.

Beautifully done with the friendly, rhythmic bounce that is yours. If humanity only knew the power that it has.

Hey Mark! Nice to see you back at Pam’s. Maybe I’ve come and gone before you’ve left a comment. I still can’t contact you in my usual way, so I’m taking advantage of our dear friend Pam to do it.
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and that 2022 will bring you good health, new friends/new readers, continued love of family, and a reason to laugh every day. Keep staying safe.

Thank you Ginger, I have been back on and off for a while, even my comments here at Pam’s are starting to stutter, some go through some don’t. And yes, my ability to leave comments, likes etc is still being blocked quite strongly almost everywhere else. I’m thinking of paper planes or carrier pigeons, they would have to be easier I’m sure 🤣 I keep checking junk folders etc because even people like you I constantly comment with end up there 😱 But you haven’t got there so your carrier pigeons must only be sprint and not long distance 😂 And regardless kind lady, Merry Christmas (in case you missed my post), and a Happy New Year for 2022, may it also be healthier, happier and love abounding to you and your loved ones. Look after yourself, may ‘your’ ink never run out nor your pigeons get lost 😂 🤣 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽 🦋 ✨ 🎇 💥 🌹 🍾 🍸 🌈 🕊 💫
