I do agree Pamela! My childhood experience (because of WW11) was a very liberating/interesting and varied period, though sad at times, but the memories are vivid and a part of me will, forever, stay young….Not visibly, of course!!

You will be always young at heart! And we can all still kick the can…

I growed up on the outside, but there’s still some “kid” in me……under all the wrinkles, age spots, arthritic joints, and a few extra pounds. Lol!
I want you and Joylennick to wait for me. I want to kick that can down the street with you guys. What fun! Ummmm, we should all probably invest in some Depends!

Hi Ginger and Pamela, Perhaps we could also arrange a game of marbles somewhere… Tee hee. I quite enjoyed playing marbles. (I know that sliding down a coal-tip on a piece of lino is out, more’s the pity…). Happy 2022. xx

Hi! and Happy 2022 right back atcha! I’m sure we can come up with lots of childhood games, and songs to sing and memories to share. We haven’t reached our ‘expiration date’ yet, so we’re good to go! We’ll be the new and improved version of The Three Musketeers. 🤗

It’s a hefty price, I say. How does that expression go? “Growing older is inevitable, growing up is optional”… Imma go with that one 😉
Mick kept a huge part of that in him – I honestly don’t know how, considering his youth…

I’m not sure why I’m different than most of my friends but I can still feel the breeze or see the sun shining on the grass a certain way and recall with clarity moments of playing in the yard or near the house and know exactly what I was doing and how it made me feel. It is more a sensational memory than a visual recall. I am the sum of all parts of me, good, not so good and in between. Still working towards improvement every day. 🙂

I remember the same way! Smells, touch so . . . visceral. And then some memories just fade.

Yeah, sometimes they ask if I remember when I sent them such and such hand made card or some small conversation. I remember when they relate it but it wasn’t in the forefront. For them, though, it’s like their young self and their adult self are different people. I just can’t fathom it unless there is a horrific past experience they are avoiding reliving.

Yep, how powerful are odours…That alluring, musty smell of Gran’s shed, creosote for the fence and warm, tactile wood….I’m on a roll..Thank you!.
