The quiet of dawn,
Was a wonderful spell.
I cherish the moment,
But I’ve something to tell.
Ginger, my friend, said,
I think there is more.
The sun’s in the sky,
And we’re keeping score.
It happens in earnest,
The day will begin.
The peace of the morning,
Is gone on a whim.
There’s breakfast and dressing,
The others to awake.
I hate to admit it,
It’s not a mistake.
To pay for this life,
We cherish each day.
It comes with a cost,
There’s no other way.
We must get to work,
With crowds all around.
Fighting with traffic,
Oh, what a sound!
There’s huffing and puffing,
And scurrying about.
It happens each day,
I leave you no doubt.
Exhaustion sets in,
As you dream for an end.
Counting the days,
Till you can amend.
Fondly remember,
The peace that you had.
And know in your heart,
The rest isn’t bad.
Pam, this touched my heart ❤️. You have such a gift of words. I love the picture, too.

Very beautifully written dear Pam, and I shall keep that dawn appointment. I am about to share a dawn breakfast with a friend who is about to leave the area and go ‘bush’, and for some reason there is something waiting in that dawn. And so suddenly, with your words, I shall allow it to have its meaning and be open to it. So with that, I shall hold that vision and send its energy to you, Ginger and Karla too 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽

Most certainly dear lady, and I even had a small family of dolphins feeding out front early this morning too…I wonder what it is all leading to…maybe there will be an invitation to join with them for breakfast too 😀 ❤️ 🙏🏽

Energy always feels more potent at that early hour of dawn.

This is beautiful, Pam. I am a morning person, and it’s always good to spend a few minutes contemplating the day (sometimes thinking about what can be left out). But if Ginger’s keeping score, I better get moving.

Hahaha! I’m only keeping score so I know who to give the Bonus Points to! Besides, contemplating the day ahead is much more productive than contemplating your navel!

Awwww Pam, this is so beautifully written. What a thrill to see my name in one of your poems! This put a big smile on my face!
I love early morning when everything is just waking up and the promise of a great day is before me. Even if the day turns out not to be so great, in just a matter of hours there will be a new day starting. How great is that?
Great photo for this post.

Yes. Aren’t we glad. In fact I haven’t had a forgot to check out of my hotel dream for a year at least. (Not to mention the Naked presentation dream.)

I so love that early morning quiet when the day still holds so much promise. And then reality hits and it’s back to dealing with stuff.
I cannot wait to retire, tell you what!!
