I know what I remember
It says so on this card
That really is quite easy
The other stuff is hard!
There is a moon round Jupiter
Or maybe that’s the sun
You see I can’t remember
I wonder what I’ve done!
Years ago I knew the truth
The reasons they put forth
Now the problem surely is
My thinking has gone north!
Silly me that phrase is wrong
It really should be south
I hear the stuff that’s spoken
All by word of mouth!
Now I wonder what I meant
What I had to say
It all is going sideways
It seems to every day!
The things that I remember
Are written on a card
It makes my life so easy
When others find it hard!
I love it Pam 🤣 But I thought this movie called life would have someone behind the camera with cue cards for us dear lady 😂 Well said my friend, but may we not forget…too much 🤣

I wish I could choose what I would forget. I have a list…

Haha, now why didn’t I think of that? 🤣

When I was young I had a memory like an elephant! Now it works at the speed of a sloth! Yet there are a few things I would like to forget but will be taking with me into eternity. Go figure! Cue cards would help, if I can remember to take them with me!

I have the best of intentions but my memory has a wicked sense of humour!

There a lots of days when cue cards would help, or, if I could yell “Line” like those actors.

I love note cards, cues, lists,…but where did I put them? I’m old-fashioned that I like paper still, lol. I’ll look N, E, S, and W ….maybe I’ll find our brains too and we can remember without the cues? 🙃

I love to make lists. Lots and lots of lists. Then I leave them behind.

Excellent, Pam. As I was reading the north reference caught my eye. Then in the next stanza, you caught it. Very clever. 😁

I seem to remember less and less, and yet, it feels like more!

I love these poems. 😀 … are you going to publish them?
When I were a wee lass, back in OZ, an English poet by the name of Pam Ayres came to my attention. She was quite famous there for a while, and probably still is, back in the ‘Old Dart’. I think there’s some videos on YouTube of her performing her work. She’s quite brilliant. I see your work as being right up there with hers.

Wow! Thank you so much! I must look her up. The name is vaguely familiar. I’ll be honest with you I’m not willing to do the work required to get my work published. I’m lazy.
