So true, but some children should not have such difficult trials.

For better or worse, our childhood trials and errors have shaped who we are today. And we’re still here to talk about it!
I agree with Darlene, some children have really difficult lives growing up, and that shouldn’t be the case. Every adult should be able to look back at their childhood with joy and happiness and fondness.

That should always be our goal… To protect the children. I wish everyone could have an idyllic childhood like I did.

Which is why today’s children, raised in cotton batting, and who are all “winners”, getting a prize, are left at such a disadvantage. They are not prepared!

Disappointment it’s all part of the learning curve. Why do adults forget that!

I don’t know. In their attempt to “protect” their children, they are hindering their growth.

I used to feel guilty, now and then, that I had such loving parents, especially when coming across a few disadvantaged children in WW11; but some parents today go ‘over the top’ when letting their little darlings do almost as they like!!

I had a wonderful childhood. I was disciplined. I learned the difference between right and wrong. Nowadays…

I had a very difficult childhood. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. But, it did give me strength throughout my life.

Those difficulties will help you to relate to those who are going through it now. A teacher was a great choice I think.
