My dear old dad said you learn something every day until you die. ❤

You bet. My dad only had a grade seven education but was the smartest man I knew.

Oh Darlene, our dads would have been such good friends, along with Pam’s dad! My dad told me, “The day you die is the day you stop learning, so don’t waste the precious time you have.”

We could all make better use of our time to learn, but we often act like we’re never going to die so we have plenty of time. In the big scheme of things, if you think about it, we don’t have plenty of time. Some folks have very little time. Yeah, we need to keep learning as best we can.

I hope we never lose the desire to put that capacity to work. Like Darlene’s dad, my dad was keen on learning and told me to make sure I learned something new every day. I still try.

I think our fathers were of an era when learning was expected. Now I’m not so sure. That worries me.
