If you aren't living on the edge, you're taking up too much space
When “mom and pop” stores were crushed by big box stores, and then “robots” took over the position of Customer Service personnel. I’m not saying today’s technology isn’t great, but we pay a big price for it.

I wonder if that price is too high…

I think way too high when you consider all we’ve lost!

Dan, the Sears Catalog was the best “wish list” in the world! I loved sitting down with that catalog and a hot cup of tea and just dream away page by page. I miss that.

I would crawl through the hardware section with similar zeal, Ginger.

I used to love that catalog. It’s like it’s signalled Christmas.

It is not a job for the faint of heart. Problem is, no one has heart anymore.

Since it was recognized that customer service is a oxymoron.

It’s funny, I’ve found some really amazing examples of great customer service. But as I examine where I’ve found these examples, they seem to be mostly small, independent businesses or organizations. I think the larger the establishment, the more layers become involved in customer service and the poorer that service becomes.
